The interceptor is where the work happens. A vertical blade on the transom drops into the water flow to generate instant lift, reacting 5 to 10 times faster than a hinged trim tab in far less transom space. This is a Series E unit.

As a rule, the lift effect of a chine interceptor matches the lift of a straight interceptor one size larger mounted inboard of the chine, making them the go-to choice when selecting interceptors. Chine interceptors are particularly useful when transom space is limited abeam of swim platform lifts, waterjets, surface drives or outboards.
