How to Connect a Micro Air EasyStart to your Webasto FCF Classic
The Micro Air EasyStart is an advanced and effective soft starter for marine air conditioning applications. The EasyStart uses a 4-part start ramp sequence that results in the lowest possible start-up current – delivering a 65-75% start current reduction as compared to a compressor’s regular LRA (locked-rotor amperage). This is the perfect solution to allow an air conditioner to operate on a generator, inverter, or limited utility power when it would otherwise not have functioned. The EasyStart also results in much quieter and smoother startups.
If looking to connect an Easy Start to your Webasto FCF Classic marine air conditioner, the following instructions will help. For a complete wiring schematic on the Webasto FCF Classic 12,000 and 16,000 units, see the extra resources below.
(Note: Make sure the breaker is turned off before you start, and turn it back on once it is connected.)
1. Unplug the #10 black cable and connect the black cable from the easy start.
2. Connect the orange cable on the capacitor terminal available slot.
3. Remove blue cable number #9 and spliced it on the brown cable from the easy start.
4. Connect the white cable from the easy start to the connection that blue cable #9 was removed.
And you should be good to go with your quieter, more energy-efficient Webasto FCF Classic, thanks to the Micro Air Easy Start! For more details on the wiring schematics of the Webasto and how to connect the Easy Start, please see the extra resources below.
