The Tides Marine FSK-0875-2000-0 SureSeal is a drip-free, self-aligning propeller shaft seal engineered for 7/8 in propeller shafts and 2 in stern tubes. Equipped with a single water injection fitting (without crossover), this shaft seal delivers dependable, maintenance-friendly performance while eliminating the leaks associated with conventional stuffing boxes. The minimum required distance from the end of the stern tube to the coupler is 6-3/4 in (171.5 mm), ensuring proper installation and optimal operation.

Housing

The SureSeal housing is manufactured from fiber-reinforced composite material, providing outstanding strength while remaining lightweight. Unlike traditional metallic housings, it is resistant to corrosion and electrolysis, does not absorb water, and maintains dimensional stability in harsh marine environments, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Bearing

An integral water-lubricated PTFE bearing supports the propeller shaft while reducing friction and wear. Designed for continuous operation in demanding marine conditions, it helps extend seal life and provides smooth, reliable performance with minimal maintenance.

Articulating Hose

Connecting the SureSeal to the vessel is easier thanks to its articulating hose, which automatically positions the seal at the correct operating distance from the stern tube. No measurements are required, simplifying installation while ensuring proper alignment. The articulating design also minimizes side loads caused by minor shaft misalignment, helping maximize the service life of both the lip seal and the bearing.

Lip Seal Replacement

The SureSeal incorporates a removable front cap that allows quick access to the lip seal. When paired with a Spare Seal Carrier, the lip seal can be replaced without removing the propeller shaft, significantly reducing maintenance time and restoring the seal's 100% watertight performance.

 Water Injection Fitting

This model includes a single 316 stainless steel water injection fitting that supplies cooling and lubricating water to the seal during operation. The fitting is equipped with a protective plastic cap that can temporarily restrict water flow into the vessel if the injection hose is removed during servicing.

SureSeal kits include the shaft seal assembly, an articulating hose, four stainless steel clamps, and the appropriate hose adapter tube. Before selecting your kit, verify the following:

• Propeller shaft outside diameter.
• Stern tube outside diameter.
• Minimum installation distance between the end of the stern tube and the shaft coupler (6-3/4 in / 171.5 mm for this model).
• Water injection configuration required for your propulsion system.
