The Tides Marine FSK-0875-1750-0 SureSeal is a drip-free, self-aligning propeller shaft seal designed for 7/8-in propeller shafts and 1-3/4-in stern tubes. Equipped with a single water injection fitting (without crossover), this seal delivers reliable, maintenance-friendly performance for single-engine inboard vessels while eliminating the leaks associated with conventional packing glands. The minimum distance required from the end of the stern tube to the coupler is 6-3/4 in (171.5 mm).

Housing

The SureSeal housing is manufactured from fiber-reinforced composite material, providing exceptional strength while remaining lightweight and compact. Unlike metallic housings, it is resistant to corrosion and electrolysis, is dimensionally stable under varying temperatures, and does not absorb water, making it ideal for demanding marine environments.

Bearing

An integral water-lubricated PTFE bearing extends the operating life of the SureSeal under normal operating conditions. The bearing provides smooth shaft support while reducing friction and wear, contributing to long-term reliability and dependable performance.

Articulating Hose

Connecting the SureSeal to the vessel is easier thanks to its articulating hose. This innovative hose automatically positions the seal at the correct operating distance from the stern tube, eliminating the need for manual measurements and simplifying installation. In addition, the articulating design reduces side loads caused by minor shaft misalignment, helping extend the service life of both the lip seal and the bearing.

Lip Seal Replacement

The SureSeal incorporates a removable front cap that provides quick access to the lip seal. When used with a Spare Seal Carrier, the worn lip seal can be replaced while the vessel remains in the water, restoring the system's 100% watertight performance while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.

Water Injection Fitting

This model features a single 316 stainless steel water injection fitting, providing the cooling water required for proper seal operation. Each fitting includes a protective plastic cap that can temporarily restrict water flow into the vessel if the injection hose needs to be removed during service.

SureSeal kits include the shaft seal assembly, an articulating hose (where applicable), and four hose clamps. Before selecting a model, verify the following:

• Propeller shaft outside diameter.
• Stern tube outside diameter.
• Minimum installation distance between the end of the stern tube and the shaft coupler (6-3/4 in / 171.5 mm for this model).
