For extra safety, our liferaft containers can be fitted with a Hammar H20 hydrostatic (water pressure) release unit, or HRU, enabling the liferaft to deploy and surface automatically when a vessel is sinking.
The Hammar H20 Hydrostatic Release Unit for Liferafts is designed to be safe and reliable in all extreme conditions that you and your vessel might meet on the oceans. Should the vessel sink, the HRU is activated by increasing water pressure and will automatically release the liferaft.

The construction of glass fibre reinforced nylon prevents the Hammar H20 from corroding, which means that no annual service, maintenance or spare parts are needed. You simply install a new one every two years and dispose of the old one. With the environment in mind, the old unit is 97% recyclable.
