What are the Differences Between Minn Kota Freshwater and Saltwater Trolling Motors?
Minn Kota Saltwater Trolling Motors are the same as the freshwater motors, but with enhancements made to enhance their durability in the saltwater environment, including stainless steel hardware, sealed electrical connections, and an advanced painting process for improved corrosion protection.
How Can I Identify which Trolling Motors are for Use in Saltwater?
Saltwater motors since 2002 have used the Riptide designation and have been white in color. The only exception to the color would be 2024 Riptide Instinct motors are the first Riptide motors to be available in black or white color options.
Can Minn Kota Saltwater Trolling Motors be Used in Freshwater?

What is the Minn Kota Warranty on Their Trolling Motors?
Ultrex: Limited Lifetime Warranty on Composite Shaft and Limited Three-Year Warranty on entire product
Vantage: Limited Two-Year Warranty on entire product
All other freshwater models: Limited Lifetime Warranty on Composite Shaft and Limited Two-Year Warranty on entire product

What Can I Do to Extend the Life of My Trolling Motor?
To extend the life of your trolling motor, never leave the motor submerged when the boat is moored - store indoors. If you have a saltwater motor, rinse the motor with freshwater after every use.
What is the Thrust on a Trolling Motor?
Thrust, measured in pounds (lbs) is the standard measure of how powerful a trolling motor is. Trolling motors come in three voltage ratings: 12v, 24v and 36v. Motors with higher voltages have more thrust. The larger and heavier your boat, the more thrust/voltage you'll need to achieve satisfactory results on the water.
How Can I Find the Right Trolling Motor for My Boat?
We've organized our trolling motors by the most popular / top sellers. The thrust and length of the motors is mentioned directly on the title of each motor.
