The Micro Air EasyStart 368 Soft Starter is a one-of-a-kind, custom-developed soft starter for single-phase motors. It can support both 115 and 230VAC motors. It employs a 4-part start ramp sequence that is self-optimizing, resulting in the lowest possible start-up current. Easy Start can deliver up to 75% start current reduction as compared to a compressor's LRA (locked-rotor amperage). It also has numerous specialized fault checks not found in any other soft starter to provide further protection for your compressor.

EasyStart is the perfect solution that allows an air conditioner or refrigeration compressor to operate on a generator, inverter, or limited utility power when it would otherwise not have functioned. It can also be applied to air compressors and fluid pump motors.

The Micro Air Easy Start 368 soft starter is capable of supporting up to a 72000 BTU (6-ton) compressor. It includes a fully weatherproof (IP65), flameproof, plastic enclosure with an integrated mounting flange and a 32" (0.8m) wire harness.

How and where would be the best mounting location?

The Micro Air EasyStart 368 soft starter can be mounted in any position except with the wiring harness pointing up. This is because the capacitor in the box cannot be mounted with its bottom as the highest point. Any mounting that maintains this position is acceptable.

The Easy Start enclosure is waterproof rated IP65 which means it can have direct weather contact. For best longevity, Easy Start should be mounted in a more protected area whenever possible. Do not block evaporator airflow with Easy Start in the evaporator hot air flow as this can cause failure in Easy Start and un desirable air conditioner operation.

Physical mounting methods include double sided foam tape, screws and zip ties. Be very careful using screws or drilling as refrigerant tubes can easily be punctured.
